Cubs open World Series in Cleveland

American League won All Star Game to open Fall Classic series

So the Chicago Cubs, who had the best record in Major League Baseball this season with a 103-58 mark, landing in the top 15 of MLB club records but behind their 1906 mark of 116 wins.  They broke their own home win record with 57 won games and now they look to break the curse that has kept them out of the World Series since 1945.  Between the Cubs and the Indians, they have waited a combined 176 years for this moment.

“Hopefully, they’ll be able to get this done,” Cubs manager Joe cubs-world-series-1Maddon said of his club, “and at that point, you can really reflect on everything and interact with the folks, and really try to get down to the root of all this. But in the meantime, man, I really anticipate and expect our guys to stay right in the moment.”

“I think that stuff is for fans,” Tribe manager Terry Francona said. “I think fans enjoy talking or commiserating, however you want to put it. But I don’t feel responsible for the fact that my dad couldn’t win. That was his fault. We’re going to have our hands full playing against the Cubs. And trying to go back and win for years, that doesn’t help.”

The game kicks off at 8 PM tonight at Progressive Field in Cleveland.  Plenty of great seats and affordable tickets are still available so grab yours today and help cheer on your Chicago Cubs in the 2016 Fall Classic!

Classic Battle of Pitchers ends in Nats Victory

On a night when League Leader in Home Runs Bryce Harper notched his 18th of the season, this game came down to some stellar pitching.

Cubbie Jon Lester gave up two runs  (one earned) on seven hits to include a home run.  He also had two walks with ten strikeouts in seven innings.

“Max threw the ball just a little bit better than I did,” Lester said. “Obviously, we lost, and that’s not the ultimate goal, but if you’re a pitcher or just a purist of the game and like watching pitching matchups, that was fun tonight. That’s what it lived up to be.”

The Cubs begin a three game stand against the KC Royals today.  Affordable tickets and great seats are still available so get yours today and help support your Chicago Cubs!
